Tommy, a son, a brother and friend to all he met suddenly passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016. He was born December, 31, 1970 in Evergreen Park, IL to Joanne Gallagher (DeGroot). A successful Entrepreneur and Telecommunications Consultant, Tommy was a proud graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Tommy, a consummate outdoorsman, had many hobbies, amongst his favorites were Muskie Fishing, Raising and Supporting Monarch Butterfly Migration Habitat and numerous wildlife and natural habitats in his community. He was Director of Lakes Management on the Village Farms Homeowners Association, Mayor of the Fox & Hound Club, First Chair at the Carmel BW3 Community Center and Charter Member of the Bob Ross “Joy of Painting” Society.
Tommy is survived by his mother Joanne Gallagher (Tim), grandparents Klaas and Elizabeth DeGroot, brother William, uncle to Amanda, Amber, Gage, Justin, Austin and the late Lucus as well as his buddy Jack his Husky.
Thomas was blessed with a wealth of friends who will miss him dearly yet smile as they remember his friendly waive or heartfelt parting comment during a hug, “I Love you Brother/Sister”
Tommy, we grieve our loss and miss you immensely but will persevere as we remember the laughs and stories shared. Thanks for the memories, may you rest in peace, paint the perfect sunrise and dance with the Unicorns. We Love you Brother!
On Saturday, October 15th, 2016 , A celebration of Tommy’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Joliet First Nazarene 1009 S. Briggs St, Joliet, IL 60433. A luncheon will follow the service.

Sorry for your loss– tom helped me get through raising A very energetic huskie and taught me about butterflies haven’t seen him in 20’years but he still took the time out to answer all my desperate questions about how to love a crazy dog -/ i pray for his families/loved ones
